Independence Conservancy
Land Preservation Goals & Priorities

Independence Conservancy is the first and only land trust based in Beaver County.

Locally, the Independence Conservancy has protected 46 acres by conservation easement and 21 acres by ownership. These lands help to preserve the rural character and environmental well-being of the Raccoon Creek Watershed. Independence Conservancy focuses its land preservation efforts in the Raccoon Creek Watershed, but we consider projects beyond our home watershed on a case-by-case basis.

For example, we have partnered with the Beaver County Planning Commission to implement the proposed Beaver River Water Trail which would provide public access to 13 miles of scenic, forested river banks from Lawrence County to the Ohio River.
